About this Fanlisting
A fanlisting is defined as a mini-website of declared fans and admirers of a particular interest, such as TV celebrities, songs, albums, books, dramas, etc. What's the "G" in G no Arashi?
According to the members in the first episode, the letter "G" is all up to you, the viewer, thinking about the beautiful, positive words that start with the letter "G". The guys listed some of these words in their show, but there is a lot more to the "G" than everyone thinks. In the show, any viewer and/or fan of the show would send them letters, explaining to them their dillemas, hopes, wishes, and dreams, hoping that Arashi (at least 2 of the 5 members) would be able to help them grant their wishes, solve their lifelong dilemmas, and making their hopes and dreams come true at last. Each episode, every member will select random five letters that come to them and read these letters alongside short documentary clips of themselves along with the letters to show a preview of what their requests are. From then on after each of the five present their chosen letters, the guys will vote on which one of the five will be the lucky one who will have their dilemmas solved and make their wishes come true. Once they voted their majority, two of the five members (sometimes all five of them will be there) will come and visit the (un)fortunate hopeful who wrote the letter to them and the guys will do their grand generous magic on making everything happen.
The results often turn out to be hilarious--- some will be a success and some will be failures. But no matter what the results may be on these "lifelong" dilemmas and wishes, the best part of it was that Arashi (or at least two of them...) took the time to come out, visit the lucky viewer, and help that person out. Their actions truly give a whole new definition of what an *idol* should be. They are there to make things happen for everyone, fan or no fan. They're not just eyecandy to be drooled and swoon over. That is what Arashi is trying to show their viewers that they're more than just "idol eyecandy" for their own fans.
In the later episodes, the boys also invite some guests to their show, as well as playing different games with each other (Aiba's board game and the air guitar segments are two examples), simply enjoying and having fun with being random. This is, after all, their show, right?
The show was first aired back in April 2005. This is more of a "revamp" from their famous "letter"-no Arashi variety show series, starting with C no Arashi, then followed by D no Arashi. The series ended on September 26th, 2006, replaced and revamped by the new show Arashi no Shukudai-kun 「嵐の宿題くん」, which made its debut on October 2nd, 2006.
